Fortaleza Tequila has been crafted by five generations, and has over 150 years of tequila making behind their brand. Don Javier, the third generation of tequila makers, was most known for leading the charge to establish the Denomination of Origin for tequila.
Fortaleza tequila is made the same way it was over 100 years ago - with a small brick oven to cook the blue agave, a tahona to squeeze the juices out of the agave, wood tanks for fermentation, and the 2 original copper pots for distillation.
The aromas of cooked agave and citrus will fill your nose in a way that is unique to this rare tequila. Hints of butter, earth, black pepper and olive intermingle into a deep inviting vegetal complexity. The flavor notes of citrus and agave, with a hint of vanilla, pave the way for the basil, olive and lime notes. There is a long, deep finish that is complex yet easy to drink.
Fortaleza Blanco is a true aficionado's tequila.
