One of Diageo's 2021 Special Releases in their 'Legends Untold' series, the Cardhu 14 Year Single Malt Scotch Whisky bottle features The Scarlet Blossoms of Black Rock. The legend has it that there was a mysterious tree with scarlet blossoms growing on a hill of blackened rock. The blossoms sweet aroma was so alluring, that it transformed the whole area into lovely abundance. Every place one of the scarlet petals hit the ground, a distillery took root.
The Cardhu 14 Year Scotch was originally matured in American oak casks, then transferred to red wine casks for finishing. The finishing period imparted the scotch with deep stone fruit and berry flavors, creating a further depth to the overall tasting experience.
This scotch holds the color of pale straw and scents of white grape, floral grass, apple and meadow flowers. The flavors of orange blossom, peaches, and jasmine carry through, while notes of white pepper, spicy oak, and green apple linger through the finish.
