Originally founded in 1856, Chicken Cock Whiskey quickly became a staple of the 1920's prohibition-era speakeasies. During prohibition, it was smuggled into speakeasies, like the famous Cotton Club, in sealed tin cans that contained the bottles. After prohibition, the brand almost went extinct... until 2011 when it was reborn. With it's 166 year old brand history and some slight modernization, Chicken Cock Whiskey has been reborn as a great American whiskey.

The Chicken Cock Cotton Club Rye 20 year old whiskey is a Canadian rye whiskey. Sourced from a mash bill of 90% rye and 10% malted barley, and bottled at 100 proof. The tin holding the replica bottle of whiskey is reminiscent of the original tins that were used to smuggle the whiskey into the speakeasies.

The whiskey is a light honeyed yellowish brown color and carries scents of sweet candy, citrus peel and spice. The initial sweet flavors of baking spices, vanilla and molasses are complimented by notes of toasted oak, pepper and citrus peel. The finish is long and buttery, with hints of herbal greenery and pepper that balance the sweet essences of baked fruit and brown sugar.

Bottled at 50% ABV - 100 Proof
